The Redragon K556 is a well built, sturdy, and beautiful keyboard that feels more premium than its listed price. The brown switches mine came with, are just the right balance of clickiness, smoothness and bounce.
Back in 2018 I bought an older variant of this, and while I changed switches as the years went by, the main keyboard never once failed. This year, I wanted to get a fresh one as a little upgrade, and to see what was new after nearly 7 years.
I’m pleased to see that it comes with a full USB-C to A cable which is much easier to connect and replace. The brushed metal on the keyboard makes it have a more premium feel than the price would suggest. The wider range of color options, as well as the smoothness of their transitions makes it a very worthy upgrade for me.
I’ve only really had one issue since using it for less than a week, hence my lower star. When cycling through some of the color options, one of the LEDs under the period key got stuck on a different color than the rest. I plugged out the keyboard, changed the colors, and other options, but it didn’t seem to resolve at first. Later on I saw that it would align well with some colors but not with others. Blue and green seem to work fine, but orange, purple, and even white can throw it off. I’m not sure if there’s an easy fix for this, but for now I have to take off a star for that.
Overall recommended, hopefully you all don’t experience this issue.

La tastiera è di alta qualità, molto piacevole al tocco, non tanto rumoroso e generalmente bello.
Il servizio clienti è davvero eccellente, sono molto disponibili e rispondono subito per qualsiasi dubbio.

Red switches , aluminium base , at a good price what more?

Çok hoşuma gitti kullanımı. RGB sevmiyorum, tek renk yapınca seçenekler biraz daha fazla olsaydı keşke ama o kısım çok önemli değil sonuçta.

This is an immaculate keyboard. For the price, you can’t beat it. Typing is a dream, the keys feel so good and it’s not overly obnoxious with the clicking sound like some other keyboards can be. The lights are also customizable when you download the software from Red Dragon. Also, I love the ability to be able to have this keyboard as wireless or wired, and the construction feels very sturdy. It is a heavy keyboard, but it’s very durable as a result. Overall, I will recommend this to everyone searching for a wired/wireless backlit keyboard, whether you’re into gaming or not. This is a must-have. I will definitely be buying from Red Dragon again whenever I need anything for my PC peripherals.

Good keyboard but not as much mechanical click as the broken one it replaced and I cannot get the lights to stay steady – always pulsing

Been using the keyboard for a while now, and I’d say it’s pretty good for a $70 keyboard. Upgrading from a cheap plastic butterfly keyboard to a mechanical keyboard was a HUGE improvement. The difference in the typing experience is night and day.
This keyboard has a metal base, and the version I purchased was with brown switches, so maybe my keys are slightly more responsive than blue or red switches, but overall, the responsiveness is very good. Side note: as with most mechanical keyboards, the typing noises with the default keycaps is very satisfying.
It’s a USB keyboard, so I wouldn’t consider battery life to be an issue, but I would highly recommend getting a hand or arm rest as the keyboard is quite tall and rises a good inch or so above the surface of my desk. The RGB aspect is pretty cool, and you can install the app to customize macros and key inputs if needed (also has a neat startup sequence when first powered). I’d also recommend extending the feet of the keyboard to improve ergonomics.
TLDR: Good quality mechanical keyboard for this price, good build quality, satisfying typing experience.
Overall, I’d say the keyboard does exactly what you need a keyboard to do, it’s sturdy (albeit a bit heavy), and I’d recommend buying an arm/wrist rest to accompany it. Also note that this is USB powered and NOT battery powered.
Would recommend for anyone who wants a mechanical keyboard but doesn’t want to spend $100+ on an expensive keyboard.

Before this I had the Red Dragon S107, which was a great keyboard for the price. But I decided to upgrade to this keyboard, The K556. And I love it! With the brown key switches, the feedback is amazing. I find myself just randomly typing things unnecessarily just to use the keyboard because it’s so satisfying to type. Though I care much more about how a keyboard feels rather than how it sounds, this one sounds great! Very nice soft clack sound. It’s built extremely well, Full metal casing, and nice, semi glossy keys that feel very nice. The lighting is good, not great. I would have to admit that although this keyboard has cooler rgb effects (reactive keys, different modes, etc) the consistency of the lighting leaves more to be desired, as there are bright spots and dim spots in certain areas of the keyboard. I’ll even go as far as to say my previous, cheaper Red Dragon keyboard had better backlighting in my opinion. One little pet peeve i also have is that keys feel nice, but need to be cleaned up better during the manufacturing process, on the bottom of each key you can see mold marks that (should have been) clipped off at the factory. And it annoys me to see that, especially for a keyboard of this price, AND being compared to another keyboard from the same company thats at least 2 times cheaper than this one, and the cheaper one didn’t have those issues. Another strange quirk is that the color white is a very warm white, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to configure it to be a cooler, more blue white. (Yes, i downloaded the software and despite trying everything, i cannot get it to display a cooler color temperature white. So due to that i opted for a nice, teal backlight color instead, which I like. I like this keyboard very much. Just wish it had better lighting. I do like that they included extra switches and a keycap/switch puller.
