I’ve been looking for a good webcam to use for work for a while now and tried a whole bunch of different Logitech and other brands. After all my “testing” this was the only one that provided a good image with the right field of view. I highly recommend this camera.

The camera is very nice. The picture quality is good. The camera quality is good. I’m not sure if I have the autofocus settings wrong but it does not work for me. It is very easy to install. I do think there are better valued cameras for the money. It also falls off the mountain very easily.

I wanted a web cam to fiddle with and I wanted a decent one. The Logitech StreamCam is a great one. I got this one through Amazon Warehouse as certified tested-operational returned merchandise. I was iffy on that whole returned deal, but at about half price for a HD capable little webcam was a good enough deal to try one out without regrets. It’s a good choice. The actual resolution is greater than its advertised HD res of 1920×1080 checking in at a 2K res of 2304×1296 and I like the way it is made to have the long axis horizontal (YouTube) or vertical (TikTok) and not look wonky when rotated to vertical in its stand. I did not know that the version including a desktop tripod was a Best Buy only product and was disappointed to find that this one does not include that little tripod. But it is a capable little webcam that works with about any software including FOSS. (VLC users – To use Vertical Format you must enable the Video
transformation filter and enable transform rotation filters for stream outputs and Video Filters) I’m still learning the recording side of VLC and sniffing around vokoscreenNG and I may post a little rotation tutorial made with the StreamCam when I can produce something palatable to post here.

While the video works well, the audio is totally broken. I’ve used Windows Camera, Logitech Capture, and G Hub, but nothing can make the audio work.

Really good webcam that can work for streaming. Its already super clear and gets up to 1080p. adjustable orientation and connects via USB C

you just need to know that you can orient the camera horizontally or vertically by popping the camera out of the little housing. (see the instructions). Once I figured that out (by reading the instructions 😉 ) , I was ready to go! Before that, I just had to jerry-rig the thing to have the picture the way I wanted it.

Make no mistake, it has great video quality, but when you record, despite fixing your lighting and zoom in and out settings the way you want, it sometimes doesn’t remain that way. When you stream live using Zoom, there are some slight conflicts with the Zoom settings and you need to go back and forth between the Logitech settings and Zoom to fix it like oh had it from the start. Nothing major, just a little glitch of conflict. Would be a 5 star if the Logitech came with a background integration where you could blur out your background like you can with Zoom.

I own a number of different webcams for both business and personal use and the Logitech Streamcam is the best one I own. The picture quality, resolution and Capture software are all very good. Great resolution, great low light performance and my video looks better than ever on Zoom, Teams and OBS. I’d recommend this camera for both meetings and streamers. It compares well to the Logitech Brio at a much better price point.
