I grew tired of the dual setup of 24” monitors. I felt like there was a lot of wasted space and I couldn’t really work with 3 separate windows very efficiently, so I wanted something bigger. A 49” was just a hair too big for me to fit with my Klipsch bookshelf speakers on my desk, so I landed on this 45” unit. This model was on sale vs the cheaper version (same picture quality) so I went with this, otherwise I just would have bought that one. It works exactly as I expected, plenty of room to have 3 windows open with almost full view of each. Colors are great, contrast is great, viewing angles are great, and the price wasn’t too bad. I would suggest you just go with a 49” if you have the space though. The price is maybe $100 more and at this price point just go for it.

Man this monitor is flipping awesome. It literally does everything I need it to do. I was looking for a way to not have so much wires everywhere with buying two extra monitors but this one 45 inches ultra wide took care of all that. I can easily get three split screens on it, perfect for my work from home job. I don’t have any issues viewing things like spreadsheets or monitoring tools. For gaming, it gets the job done as well. I play some pc games and it runs them well. I also plug my Xbox to it and I get a cool 1440p 120fps. I don’t really care much for gaming with it, but for work, this thing is a game changer. I will come back and update after a few months. I pray it lasts. I have always loved LG products because everything LG I own has lasted me for YEARS
****Edit
Even after almost a year, this beast is still going strong!! Probably the best purchase I made in 2024. Get it!!

One of Best purchases made. Can’t speak about the gaming aspect but for productivity , this is great. I got a laptop, desktop, mouse, keyboard and speaker all connected to massive monitor. Integrated Kvm switch works well.
This does require a lot of real estate to fit on desk but it looks great. Excellent for work and movies. Great colours. I got it on sale but was still concerned about the cost and potential defects, but no issues at all. Can never go back to smaller monitors.

I got it on Cyber Monday sales, while it took a week to come, I really fell in love as soon as i unboxed it. It was super easy to setup.
Pro Tip: Do not throw the box or the foam away, it has an easy to carry design which would be useful if you need to pack this beast and move to a new place.
I am a sucker for USB-C connectivity charing my Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. Hence, I got the version that has the feature. I have a lot of fun using the screen! Mostly use it for productivity tasks. It is a ~45 inch screen ultra wide which means you do get less vertical size. Not a dealbreaker but be mindful. It is like having a super elongated notebook (yes the paper one). I needed to play around with the zoom in/out settings to get what I love.
If you can wrap your head around that aspect ratio visually, you are in for a treat.
10/10 would recommend for a casual gaming/Professional work from home setup!

I got the 32:9 variant of the monitor on this product listing. Specifically, the version with a USB-C port. I ended up returning it. The main determining factor was the VA ghosting. Still images on this monitor look great. But any time there’s a high contrast between two colors side by side, there’s a horrendous amount of smearing whenever the two colors are moving. The easiest example is using YouTube in dark mode. Any time you scroll, the thumb nails have this weird color shifting effect. Another example that really bothered me was in Sea of Thieves. My ship was painted black, and any time I looked at it against a bright blue sky as the background, I would see a dark green trail follow the ship as I moved my mouse. There’s ways to reduce this affect, but they all just reduce the contrast to a point that you might as well have just bought an IPS display. And they don’t even fix all of the ghosting problems. Another issue that I believe is related to the ghosting is that any time there is a pattern going across the screen, it becomes extremely jittery. This is an oddly specific example, but if you’ve played Portal 2, you may remember that the white surfaces have a texture with several small bumps all over the panels, arranged in sort of a grid pattern. When those surfaces were on screen and I was moving my mouse or walking, it felt like the camera was shaking due to the jittery-ness.
I bought this monitor without realizing that there was a cheaper variant without the USB-C port. That part is my fault for not doing enough research before making my purchase. However, the non USB-C variant was $550 at the time of purchase, while the variant I bought was $700. $150 for a USB-C port seems absurd to me.
My final issue with this monitor isn’t anything wrong with this one in particular, moreso with 32:9 monitors in general. They’re great for productivity, but many games, especially older ones, don’t work well with them. In particular, any game that does not have an FOV slider will not look right. Objects near the sides of the screen end up being stretched to a point that they look much closer to you than they actually are. And most games still place your HUD in the far corners of the screen, meaning you have to look left or right to see it. You can turn the resolution down to 2560 by 1440, but then what’s the point in having a 32:9 monitor?
Overall, I would not recommend this monitor, especially for gaming.

Huge and great value. My biggest gripe with it is the inverse ghosting on the highest response time. Colors can be blaringly vibrant if you’d like!

I did quite a bit of research on Ultrawides before buying this one. Even the samsungs and asus 49s had absolutly horrible reviews. Many friends also has issues with dead pixels and monitors just deciding to give up just outside of warrenty.
Well so far this LG is great. I always enjoyed LG and have quite a few of their products. Personally I tried a bunch of different games on this monitor along with different font sizes on texts or pdfs. I freaking love this thing, glad I sold off my three 27″ samsungs to get this one. Has been worth every penny thus far.
I have also been tinkering around with the LG app “On Screen Control” to take advantage of the “split screen” options seeing as how I was replacing three screens for an ultrawide for this main reason. It works great. I love how simple it is, however I had some trouble finding the app on the LG site. After talking to a rep, it was determined that it was not available on the site for this model, so they promptly linked me for another model (the app is the same for all the LG ultragears) and it worked no problem.
I also love the feature of being able to plug the mouse and keyboard into the monitor, and it just transfers my mousee & keyboard to whatever I plug the screen into. Even works while using Samsung DEX on my phone.
There is also a way to get two PCs to work split screen on this screen, haven’t played around with that yet, but will get to it soon. I will update as soon as I get a chance to do that. (I do a lot of repair for freinds/family, and the feature sounds like it would be VERY helpful. One mouse, keyboard & screen for any PC I plug)
I played around with the color/brightness settings till I got it where I liked it and saved the profile for my main PC. Personally the image is b-e-a-u-tiful. After Sony; LG has always been one of my favorites for TV. Well now they just might be my favorite for monitors.
Unless you have an absolute monster for a graphics card… you’re not gonna be running at 200 hz while gaming. I am running a 2070 SUPER and I average around 120 on medium settings on most games. Only time I hit the 200 is when on desktop. I am running a IVANKY 1.4 DISPLAY PORT cable for this.
It has only been two days since I received it, so time will tell. I have high hopes for this monitor and I hope it meets those expectations. I will keep this posted, because I am sure I am not the only one afraid to pay over 1000$ for a screen while all the other ultrawides let go just after warrenty.
10/10 so far.

So I was curious about this and pulled the trigger on buying it. Bare in mind there are games and apps that don’t support ultra wide screens fully. The games that do are insane. You can use it as a dual screen or do PIP. I have no issues on the picture quality. I’ve noticed no lag. My new PC paired with this I can do epic graphics and 120+fps on most games on 5120 x 1440 resolution. Well worth the investment. If it’s your only monitor. Be aware you will not fill the screen with any video streaming services and such. They only go so high on resolution. But if you don’t mind the sides being filled with black sections your good then.
However, if you can grab some ultra wide supported wallpapers that are particularly scenic. It’s beautiful. The HDR helps with the color too and makes it so vibrant.

I primarily use it for gaming. I play a mix of rpg, open-world, story, and online multiplayer games. The picture has been sharp and the colors vibrant. The refresh rate is great. I also love the size and can have multiple windows open and still have them large in size while playing a game (like a game guide or discord). Would recommend.

Bought one with an open box in like new condition. Works flawlessly. Everything was still in the package wrapped up. Paid $550, monitor is fantastic if you’re a programmer. For the occasional video games I play, I found it to be too big.

The best monitor I have ever owned. Super impressed. I bought open box on sale, 450$. This monitor had been on my list since seeing it at Best Buy during Christmas. BE AWARE! It’s very large. I’m working getting a mount
