I’ve had the machine a little over 2 weeks now and although this isn’t a considerable length of time I’ve experienced no issues and I am extremely happy with the product and it’s performance. The laptop came promptly, 2 days early in fact and was very well packaged. The build quality is good and the machine is aesthetically pleasing. Keyboard is good quality (US) and the touch pad is acceptable. It runs silently for basic operations and isn’t any louder than what can generally be expected from any gaming machine. Under a considerable load the CPU/GPU can run upto around 65/70c which is perfectly normal for gaming laptops but I would recommend investing in a cooling pad, you can pick half decent ones up for as little £15/20. The screen display is where this machine cuts costs compared to its competition but all things considered its acceptable quality. It comes with a primary SSD but you will need to buy a secondary HDD/SSD separately. Installing the drive is very simple and should take no more than 10 mins. The laptop came with the caddy and the cable was pre installed. This laptop will run pretty much anything you throw at it within reason. Keep an appropriate cleaning agent and cloth handy though because this thing does love fingerprints. Overall, this is a great laptop with impressive specs for the money. I’d thouroughly recommend.

I’ve had this laptop for 4 years. Overall, it’s a good laptop. Much better quality than my last. Where it excels:
-Performance
-Reliability
-Price
I would say the main drawbacks are:
-It can get pretty frelling hot.
-The fans can be.. A bit loud at times.
Other than that, it’s a workhorse. I usually use it in combination with a decent size 2k monitor. I can play Doom while on high settings ON the 2nd monitor. That’s impressive. The weight is ok. It has a metal chassis. This is both a pro and a con. Obviously, it will weigh more. On the other hand, it really helps its structural integrity. I’ve definitely accidentally dropped it or dropped something on it a few times. And it’s still performing perfectly. The only problems I’ve had with it, is that it has randomly crashed a few times, but that was very rare. Maybe 2 or 3 times. But I would just let it stay off for a while, and then power it back on. And it then worked again like nothing happened. The other big thing that has happened, is the SSD hard-drive did fail about a year ago. I had installed another hard-drive for more storage, this was a normal “old style” drive, it is still working perfectly. But the SSD did fail, it was the original. I had to go to Microcenter and have the drive removed and a new one put it. It had the operating system on it. (Make sure you back up important documents!!!)
Other than that, it keeps going. I know there are beefier machines out there, 4 years is quite the time for tech to move forward. That being said, I’m still using this everyday. I was considering selling this and upgrading to a RTX 3060. But.. This thing works so well, and has displayed it’s ability to keep going. Why venture into the unknown when this works so well? If it ain’t broke..
My last laptop was an ASUS gaming computer. It started to have ports fail on it and it was just under powered. It didn’t last long at all.
As for recommending this in mid/late 2022.. I’d say it’s quite good. It works hard and sweats hard, so to speak. It was WELL WORTH it for me. There are more laptops out there now, I’d say look around. But keep this one saved. It’s really good. If you don’t need the top of the top, and want to save some money, this is a very good option. A GTX 1060 in 2022 still kicks butt. It gets hot, the fans are a little noisy, but it’s a mean machine.
I’ll include a few random things I thought about that I remember people talking about:
Battery life, honestly, it’s ok.. you can get maybe an hour or 2, maybe three depending on what you’re doing. If you’re gaming on battery, a hour or less. Just have a charging cable around.
The screen is 1080p, it’s ok.. I feel like you really need 2k+ quality nowadays. But, I had an external 2k monitor that I hooked it up to. Plus, dual screens is vital to me anyway.
The light up keyboard is very nice to have, but it only works (from what I’ve figured out) while it’s plugged in.
At first the location of the power button worried me, it’s right on the keyboard. Like, top right button. If you’re worried about that, don’t be. I’ve never accidentally hit it even once in 4 years. Not even close.
It comes with Windows 10. Not as good as Windows 7.. But.. From what I’ve seen, Windows 10 is better than Windows 11. Also, according to the computer it cannot be upgraded to W11. At least, not without some real work. It says it isn’t compatible. So if you want W11, either look elsewhere or have some tech knowledge on how to do it the “hard” way.
Sound, the sound is ok.. Not great. Not bad, though. I had some cost-effective speakers already owned, they were about $50. I plugged them in and that’s all I use- pretty much, unless I’m on the go. The speakers are fine, nothing to write home about, but they aren’t bad, everything sounds good. The speakers I had, which sound great, are “G2000” speakers. They work really well for gaming and sounds.
I think that’s everything I can think of. I hope this review helps. I don’t know if I can answer questions or not, but I will if I can. Overall, great laptop. I’m very happy I got this one, 4 years ago. I’m still using it. It shows no signs of stopping.

This laptop does everything I want it to. It’s fast, it’s strong and the sound is absolutely amazing. I thought my computer-setup from before had good audio, but after I plugged in proper headphones on this laptop, I awakened.
The only drawbacks of this computer is that the arrow keys area is a bit crowded, leading to missclicking a lot of time. Also it does not really run games smoothly unless you plug in the charger.
2023 July edit: Still alive and doing well, however it does, unsurprisingly not run current gen games very well. The fact that you cannot remove the battery for home-use is a big drawback as the battery will die much faster due to frequent charging. Even when trying to unplug it once it reaches around 85% battery, I often forget, and have it at 100% for some time before removing the charger, leading to loss of battery longevity. Detachable batteries for laptops should be a requirement imo.

This is the best gaming Laptop I have owned. I’m in IT so I also use my system on our domain. The machine is a beauty with the black and red accents. Feels premium. They keyboard is fine but it is weird how they placed the up arrow. I made a few adjustments as in I put 32GB of ram on board. No its not overboard because I use a lot of programs as well as virtual machines. I always install my own OS and I installed Windows 10 Pro. I also installed a 1TB WD Blue drive in place of the 256 drive and I added a 1TB SSD drive for data. All of my applications and virtual machines run at server speeds. I play Call Of Duty Ghost, Emergency 2017, Battle Field 3, 4, Fall out and many more on the ultra settings and it just looks beautiful and plays flawless. I’m also running music production software as in Sonar, Presonus Studio One, and FL Studio. The Nvidia card make those application better because they use a lot of animation. You just go into the Nvidia control panel and select the programs you want to run off the Intel or NV. Do install the predator sense because you can adjust the fan speeds as well as see the CPU and GPU temps. I use cooling pads at home and work. Not that I need them but they sure look pretty with all these colors. This thing is super fast. Now to the negatives. It is not big brick but it does have a little weight but when you see whats under the hood its understandable. The screen is a victim of getting the price to where it is. Many complain about its not bright enough but I have no issues with it in my bright office. The viewing angles are spot on and I have no issue with the color reproduction. Maybe videophobes have issues but power users and gamer’s will not. The battery is what it is and do not expect much time playing games. Also when you unplug the power source you lose quite a bit of frame rates anyway. Im always plugged in so its no problem. JFYI. Tips. Run all your updates before you start installing programs and games. Update the bios first then grab Geforce Experience from Nvidia’s website so you can get the updated Geforce drivers as well as game optimizations. Never rely on any laptop manufacturer website for anything other than bios. Very pleased
