Product was sealed empty. Product arrived, opened the box, Nothing in the box. That was a first for me.
Requested refund. Will update once I am refunded and new product arrives.

I was setting up my home office and needed a high-quality webcam that didn’t break the bank. The Dell UltraSharp HDR 4K Webcam exceeded my expectations! Installation was a breeze, and the functionality is fantastic—crisp 4K video quality with excellent clarity. This webcam definitely gives a professional feel to video calls and online meetings. Highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their setup with a great-value product!

I was so impressed with the manufacturing and engineering of this product as I unboxed it. It’s so impressive and thought out. When I put it on my ultrawide, it looked like it belonged there. It’s the perfect-looking webcam for me. I freaking love it.
I was a little worried it was dell when I purchased it. I never had good Dell experience, but the reviews are good.
Then my fears were confirmed as I started using it. Inside this very pretty exterior is trash dell software. It’s supposed to be 4k, but the picture is always grainy, no matter what lighting. there doesn’t seem to be a specific way to force resolution, and I tried the many setting with the required software but to no avail.
I also used it on my mac, with the same picture issue. So it’s just a problem with the camera.
If anyone is interested, I ended up with Elgato, the rectangular front want. it’s not as beautiful, but my picture is so good I tend to stare at myself on screen. Who is that handsome man?!

The software that ships & autoinstalls to control this camera is horrible. The Dell Peripheral Manager tries to manage all devices connected to your computer’s USB ports. My wireless mouse & keyboard began lagging immediately after I connected the device to my computer, and I ended up having to uninstall the software for them to work normally again. Camera quality is excellent, but it requires installing software that thinks it owns the place and does too much instead of only controlling the camera. Bizarre and needs to be re-developed.

There are better 4K webcams for image quality out there like the Instalink 360 Link 2. I keep it around for the Windows Hello functionality.

There are many out there as we all know. I like logi products, and some of the other names we know have some nice quality products.
I am sure glad I found out about this webcam. It fits on the top of my Alienware monitor and does not cover a single square inch of screen. I’m pretty impressed with this cam overall and feel like I was blessed to know about it, (Hello) which you can find many reviews on. The main thing is me not being an expert, the quality was much better than I expected across the board. Point is I believe this one puts many of the others to shame, and at a price point you can’t argue against if your looking for the best overall you can get. Thx

Like all 4k cameras this unit needs tweaking for local lighting, colour preferences, FOV etc. this is usually done with the manufacturers utility software (as the Logitech cameras do). The Dell utility doesn’t seem to work at all with my Mac mini (M1). Software starts, does nothing, then quits. Have tried with my IT support folks and with two Os version now. Dell Display and Peripheral Manager Application for macOS 1.0.2.0019, A00. So I just have ‘out of the box’ capability with colours a mess and FOV set too wide. Ho hum.

The picture quality on this webcam is ULTRA SHARP, heh. But it is. It’s great, and with Windows Hello integration I’m sold. Works like a charm, no real setup needed. Some of the options in the software is a bit scarce and we would love to have a for more picture tweaking options, but out of the box it doesn’t necessarily need them. Works well in all lightning thus far.
Working in IT, I try to stay clear of Dell due to their proprietary computer crap, but for peripherals as in this case, they show they CAN be top of the line.

Summary: Great picture quality, feel of high quality, love auto focus and face tracking.
Pros: Top tier Sony lens and CCD, the build is tight and modern looking, Windows software is much better than others have commented. Comes with additional desktop/shelf stand.
Cons: Long camera that does stick out in front of monitor a slight bit, like all add-on monitor cameras its not secured to monitor and can easily be knocked off. Some will not like that it doesn’t have a mic, but I opted for an external dock with speaker and mic, so not big deal for me. Plus no webcam that sits on the monitor have speakers that are usable so you still need a speaker solution and all conference solutions have multiple noise cancelling mics in addition to speakers anyway. It also does not rotate, only up and down, but not many do. With AI face focus on this doesn’t impact me as it follows my face. And lastly, of course it is pricey.
Summary: I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony builds this for Dell as all the components are Sony inside. I found setup and use of the camera on Windows to be straight forward and had no issues. I see most of the negative reviews about the Dell software are Apple users. What did they expect buying from a retailer/manufacturer that is a competitor of Apple? Of course Dell isn’t going to put as much effort into the Mac software/drivers. I found the AI face tracking to work perfectly. There is even settings for jump, slow or fast. Jump means it jumps without any motion. Obviously slow or fast mean it moves to your face. I use fast and find it seems most natural and least disruptive to viewers. I work in a low light environment or high light if I open the shades. The camera adjusts well to either situation. I couldn’t ask for more. The camera runs only slightly warm for me, I had to touch for a little while to even notice it was above room temperature. It’s possible others have gotten bad units and/or the manufacturer has resolved the issue since, or maybe I’m just lucky? Part of me thinks its just Logitech fans being hatters. LOL

I have bought several of these, I have it at home and at the office. We also use these for all employees in our office. They are very high quality both in build quality and in image quality. They are highly configurable and have great software. I highly recommend if you want the best image quality.
