Just had 2 Logitech M570’s go bad due to the button switches, decided to try ProtoArc as a budget replacement, about half the price I paid for the M570 few years ago.
These things are great. Best feature is the connectivity, no need to use a special unifier dongle and there is a 3 device connection switch. I have only tested the bluetooth connection so far and it has been working with no problems. Just pair it once and it works.
The ball movement is smooth, I can’t feel any difference compared to the M570. I see people complaining that there is drag but my unit is very smooth. The button clicks are very nice also, very quiet compared to the M570.
The unit is slightly wider than the M570, maybe 1/4″. For me, I don’t really notice it. The adjustable tilt angle is ok, I don’t have an opinion on it, I don’t feel it has much benefit, not to me anyways.
The complete bottom of the device is covered by one large rubber pad to prevent sliding around. I seen some complaints about this, but I think this is much better than the 3 small pads on the M570. Those pads on the M570 eventually lose the adhesive and fall off, at least on mine they did, so it had no grip pads after a year or two.
So far, I think this is a real winner at this price point. If it holds up for awhile, I’ll probably get another one for work.

Very well built, comfortable, and works great! Well worth the price.
I’ve had a Logitech M570 for years and it worked good but this new ProtoArc blows it out of the water.
I don’t think there is a single thing about it that I don’t like.
It tilts from 0 to 20 degrees making it very comfortable. It also has adjustable DPI for custom cursor movment. Silent clicking, Very smooth control, Page up/down buttons, and a nice scroll wheel. (No it’s not silent but it’s not noisy either. It has a slight clicking sound.
Another feature is something that I really like and haven’t noticed anyone posting about. If you push down on the wheel, you can scroll up or down, fast or slow depending on how you move the track ball.
I used that feature a lot with my old mouse and was happy to see that this mouse does that.
The last thing I want to mention is that my old mouse took a AA battery. This one is rechargable.
I love it!

The fit and finish are excellent, and it feels well made. Like the ’tilting’ feature and the shape and size are comfortable and should accommodate virtually all hands. However, the primary/secondary buttons are very mushy and have zero tactile feedback making this really only viable for the most basic of uses. Absolutely not for gaming in any regard.

Nice stylish black trackball with (I choose) a red ball. Luckily no fancy LED lights, and connects to PC and MAC. Great!! What could be improved is a small storage area in the trackball for the dongle (wifi/bluetooth)

It’s a very good mouse for the price. Doesn’t feel cheap, has nice heft to it. Has lots of features. I like the fact that you can plug it in to charge and use it at the same time.
I’ve been using trackball mice for decades, off and on, at first they do take some getting used to and often a good amount of time to adjust sensitivity to get it just the way you want it. This one out of the box worked almost just right for me. I just checked the ProtoArch website and there are no drivers or setup options to install. Sensitivity settings are on the mouse itself using the DIP buttons to the right of the ball. This is both a blessing and a curse. Not needing to install software is great, it just works right out of the box (as long as you turn it on before you install the dongle into your computer). It’s simple. But then I’m a techie, and I like options that are not normally available thru the basic device options on my computer. Just like this company I need to realize that simple is better, lol.
The ball moves effortlessly, zero resistance – is too free flowing a thing? (it’s still clean, this will probably change in a couple of weeks or so to let me know it’s time to clean the bearings – common for trackball mouse users and eating lunch at the desk at work). The right mouse button seems too easy to hit accidentally in both modes (flat or tilt), not sure if it’s because my finger likes to rest at that spot or the button sensitivity. I suppose my proclivity to hit that will likely change over time and use. The scroll wheel is a bit clunky, stiff and not as flowing with gentle ribbing like the Logitech mice I have used, even the older M570. The logi mice wheels are nice and quiet. While this one isn’t terribly loud, it’s definitely not a Logi. Initially when I bought this mouse I was sure I’d want to keep it tilted to the right and was going to try to figure out a way to make the tilt permanent. Now I kinda like being able to tilt it at will, depending on my hand’s mood (remember I like options).
Overall the mouse is worth the price! Has some great positives (simultaneous use/charge, free ballin’, heft/quality feel, hand comfort, options). The negatives are my own subjectiveness (which I note after reading others comments, I’m not alone). The sensitive right click, the wheel’s shortcomings and limited customization, I suspect I will get over in my own time

In the past I used Logitech and they were fine but pricey. I tried another brand under $30 on Amazon (I believe Nubea) which was fine but wore out after several years. I saw some good reviews for this online and figured it would be my replacement. It took a bit getting used to as the feel and configuration are slightly new to me. But I am very impressed. I switch between my phone (Samsung Dex) and laptop frequently enough that I really enjoy having the button to change devices on the top (other mouse had this switch on the bottom). It’s easy to charge with USB type C. Has a quality feeling hard shell. Angling it for my hand is nice and that hasn’t collapsed while in use. The scroll and buttons are solid. The buttons are nearly silent and were triggered too easily at first but I’ve gotten use to the feel and they are great. I would say the only downside is no built in storage for the dongle but I leave that in my laptop anyway.

Me ha gustado mucho, al principio pensé que me sería difícil acostumbrarme pero la curva de aprendizaje es bastante corta. Es muy cómodo y me agrada no tener que estar ya moviendo la mano todo el tiempo

Upgraded on impulse from EM04 which had replaced my Logi M570. Love it. Recommend the EM01NL.
My Logi developed the click button issue so became a bit annoying although still usable. I use it while I charge the new trackball.
The EM04 is very good. It can also connect to 2 BT devices (tablets) with a click of a button on the bottom. Only thing I didn’t like was the Back/Forward buttons were low profile and I found myself often hitting both so I’d end up back where I started.
Found the EM01 NL on sale and couldn’t resist. B/Fwd buttons stand taller and have a good sized notch between them. Switching devices is easier as the buttons are on the side. Scroll wheel feels better. Built in tilt plate works great–not much pressure needed to raise/lower but enough that it won’t happen unless you intend it. One draw back would that the USB dongle does not have a storage slot in the bottom of the device (like the EM0r4)–only an issue if you travel a lot and want to use trackball via USB and not Bluetooth, or, over time, you could lose the dongle if you only use BT normally. I have not used the DPI settings but out-of-the-box, the settings work well for my widescreen for general OS use/web surfing.
