I had the old model and this is much quieter in the click department.
Great responsive mouse.

The mouse feels good in the hand. Buttons work well and arm is less tired after a day. The scroll wheel, however, is stiff and not accurate.

On my 3rd in 15 years, they are good for 5 years!

As good as the MX Ergo but without the clickadeclick sound. USB-C finaly. The higher platform of the MX Ergo also works with the MX Ergo S model. Thanks.

TL;DR: The MX Ergo is a fantastic trackball mouse and well worth the investment, especially for productivity and multi-monitor setups. Just don’t expect Amazon to treat it with the care it deserves.
I am someone who is on the computer all day, so I look for comfort, accuracy, and ease of use for a mouse and this does all of what I need. Thanks to the ergonomic design, I am able to effortless use this mouse for 10+ hours a day. Switching from my older model MX Ergo was effortless and the upgrade to USB-C charging is very much appreciated.
With the USB dongle and a Bluetooth connection you are able to effortlessly switch between devices. For anyone with multiple monitors I recommend giving the trackball a try, it allows you to move across large screen real estate with minimal movement. The customizable buttons are icing on the cake allowing for added function.
Amazon’s shipping method for this mouse is a joke. They sent it in its OEM packaging, risking damage and theft. If you find a retailer with better packaging standards, it’s absolutely worth buying.

Everything about the mouse works as I wanted but… the biggest source of pain for me personally was rolling the scroll wheel. A rounded wheel (like a bicycle tire) causes me pain in the center of my index finger. Enough that I am switching fingers to avoid the discomfort. The single biggest deciding factor for me paying the extra money for this mouse was the double track on flat diameter scroll wheel as in picture. Sure enough the mouse arrives and its the same exact scroll wheel I was seeking to replace – a bicycle style radius wheel. This provides zero relief for the finger pain I was hoping for. Its a great mouse otherwise but for the wheel. Now I’m using it simply because I paid so much for it and finger pain continues. To the manufacturer: Is it too much to ask that your photos are actually of the product?

This is the first time I’m trying a trackball mouse for work and I’m blown away by how comfortable it is. It may take a few days to get used to and playing with the settings to make it match yours. I switched from an Apple Magic Mouse which was a pain to work with, especially during long work days. Super happy with the mouse, its comfort and quality. Highly recommend!

Let me start with, I love the previous model of this mouse. I have purchased 3. 1 for my office, 1 for at home since I work in office some days a WFH others and don’t want to forget to grab it at 5am when I am half awake… the 3rd was a replacement because I wore my first one out.
One of the things I loved about GEN 1 was that it used the Logitech Unifying USB FOB… so I didn’t have to swap FOBs wherever I was located. It meant 1 FOB for both mice… plus other Logitech stuff I had (for example I kept a small standard mouse and keyboard in my travel bag). I was disappointed to see this uses a different FOB tech that is not compatible…
So this meant I would have to use my 2nd USB A port for this… which I didn’t want to do. So I had to connect this with Bluetooth instead. Which is fine, but I generally prefer to use the 2.4 ghz wireless FOB instead of BT because it is more responsive to me and connectivity seems to be more consistent.
So I knocked 1 Star off for that.
Otherwise this is basically the same as GEN 1, except the click is much quieter and it has USB-C for charging. Shape and feel is exactly the same. My big reason for switching was USB-C because this was my last device that used Micro-USB and I wanted to stop carrying extra cables or finding my Micro cable at home to charge up. 1 cable for “all the things” (Mouse, Work Laptop, Mac, gaming mouse, iPhone, iPads, Airpods, battery packs, portable hard drives, Gaming controllers, etc…) is quite amazing.
Also for those who might wonder, the BASE is the same as GEN 1. So the “lifter” that comes optional… and at times is more expensive model… you can use the GEN 1 base lifter on GEN 2 models and it fits the same.
Overall, I do highly recommend this mouse. It is the best trackball I have found after using trackballs for probably 15 years now.

Great mouse. Feels identical in the hand to the previous micro USB model. The clicking is very quiet which my neighbors in the office will appreciate. The track ball is very precise and is excellent for working in CAD. Expensive but comfortable.

TL’DR:
– USB-C Charging
– Highly customizable (with Logitech+ software)
– very comfortable
– high quality build
– Wish the scroll wheel was quieter
– would like a built in receptacles for dongle
Been using the predecessor MX Ergo for about the last 5 years. It is a wonderful mouse and much of what I loved of this mouse can be found on the predecessor. When comparing the previous version and this latest version the only discernible differences to someone who uses their mouse for 8+ hours a day are: usb-c charging, silent mouse clicks.
If you dont mind micro-usb charging and a louder mouse click then save a buck and get the old model. If you are new to ergo mouses this is the one and only. I wont use another and wouldn’t recommend anything else.
Logitech+ is pretty good and this is coming from someone who generally never installs third-party peripheral software. You kind of have to install this software if you want to customize anything about the mouse but if you are willing to (doesn’t seem to be spyware or ram/cpu intensive) then you can change any button on the mouse (even clicking the wheel left right or center) to do more or less whatever you want.
Has an adjustable DPI button that can be very useful depending on what you do on your computer. I typically only find myself using it when I have to some fine edits in photo edit software and typically remap it to something like ‘mission control’ on macos.
Only thing I wish I saw on this updated model would be a dongle receptacle on the mouse so that I can easily slot the unifying receiver. Also the whole mouse is silent except the scroll wheel which is kind of bothersome. I am not sure if for me any of those features would justify another hundred dollars but something to know.
I say this is much needed refresh in the title only to say they didn’t add much. Really I bought the new one cause I wanted one for my home office and I really wanted to get rid of the last thing that wasn’t usb-c charging.

I had the previous one with the blue ball and loved it.
This one is even better!
Things I love:
-tilts to any angle you like
-clicks are super quite and smooth
-ball moves with precision and good weight
-whole unit is sold and professionally built
-So so items:
-no charging cable but common usbc
-bluetooth is usba so need an adapter
Overall though super helpful for precision computer work
