There once was a keyboard, quite neat,
From Microsoft, truly elite.
Ergonomic in style,
You’ll type with a smile,
Its design makes discomfort obsolete!
With a curve and a tilt so refined,
For hands and for wrists, it’s designed.
Typing’s a breeze,
With such an ease,
Microsoft’s tech brilliance defined!

Great design, comforable wrist rest, key have a good feel to them. Get it while you can, I understand MSFT isn’t making them anymore.

Best keyboard ever. Keys spaced far enough apart that you don’t accidentally depress wrong key when typing. Also extremely comfortable, the ergonomic design is the best I have ever used.
I highly reccommend this keyboard with or without the attached cord to all computer users.

Best ergo keyboard I have found for large fingers!

After several years, my Microsoft 4000 keyboard required retirement. I began ordering difference ergonomic keyboards and returning each of them as the key layout was quite different than the 4000 and I simply couldn’t adapt to the lower right insert and arrow keys. This is not exactly comparable to the 4000 in quality but the keyboard is and so far I am very happy with it! Hard to beat Microsoft products.

I had a 4000v1.0 and loved it. Until I spilled water on it. Couldn’t find another of the same for any reasonable price, so I took a chance on this one. Only a few little changes I need to adjust to, the “M” key seems slightly differently placed, and I’m not sure about the emoji key where the context menu key should be, but I will adjust (my work won’t allow software to be installed to map things). On the plus side, this one is MUCH quieter than the old one.

Within last 1-2 years, MSFT has apparently changed their base chipset in the keyboard and new chipset does not communicate correctly with the IOGear KVM switches (my specific switch is the GCS1642). The hot-key to switch connections will not communicate with the switch.
Ergonomics – much less comfortable than the prior models, wrists not straight with this version of the ‘natural’, harder to use than prior, and key-press is ‘squishy’ so it’s harder to type quickly and with confidence.
Usual solid keyboard and does ‘work correctly’ otherwise though.
Update: Seller is being exceptionally difficult with returning the item. Claims it is not returnable because it contains “flammable liquids or gases”. Well, no, it’s a keyboard, so in fact it does not contain flammable liquids or gases. AMZN has contacted seller for me 3 times now, Seller just responds that I should open a return, which of course I cannot because the item is marked ineligible due to the flammable stuff it doesn’t contain. Beware buying from 3rd party ‘BestBuyExtreme’!

Key layout has been changed in poor ways.
Touch typing is harder now that function row keys have been merged with top numer row. E.g. the backspace key is no longer the top right most key. Backspace has also been shrunk to a smaller size. On left side, back tick ` and tilde ~ are no longer top left key. Page up is no longer top right key.
Context menu key has been moved from right to left side. New ’emoji’ key and another unidentified key next to it have no good function, and now you can’t move between keyboards with context menu in similar location.
Wrist rest is no longer as elevated as previous model.
No indicator for caps lock being on or off.
